Too few of us take time from our busy schedules just to be. Out here the cozy serenity envelopes you and you feel like you have all the time in the world. The scenery and wildlife are spectacular, and the snow this morning was beautiful, albeit a little late in the season. This is indeed A Little Bit of Heaven Here on Earth!
Thank you for your gracious hospitality. Also, the smell of a wood-burning stove evokes childhood memories

Absolutely wicked place! At a brisk -20C there is nothing like coming into wood stove heat & hot chocolate. The solitude and peace here are stunning.
Due to the 10-15 cm of snow that fell it was truly a Winter Wonderland. Skiing was fabulous and the beauty of the valley superb. We saw Bohemian waxwings, red-breasted nuthatch, four-toed woodpeckers, squirrels, crows, ravens, black-capped chickadees, Boreal chickadees, and even a bald eagle.
At night by the warmth of the fire it seems that the world is miles away. Stepping outside, the howling of the coyotes was a fitting serenade for the brilliant stars.
Comfy, simple, quiet and peaceful — I had to be dragged away!
